You are not alone

That baby you've been waiting for is here, and somehow you are feeling overwhelmed with sadness and anxiety. You are not alone, and you are not failing. While pregnancy and childbirth are often joyful experiences, they can also bring emotional challenges, hormonal shifts, and life adjustments that affect mental health.

What is perinatal and reproductive psychiatry?

Specialized care for hormonal and reproductive transitions.

Compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric support

Perinatal and reproductive psychiatry focuses on the emotional, mental health and even spiritual needs of individuals during times of hormonal and reproductive change. These transitions—such as pregnancy, postpartum, fertility treatment, miscarriage, or menopause—can significantly impact mental well-being. Specialized psychiatric care helps patients navigate these experiences with compassionate, evidence-based support.

Who this is for

Specialized perinatal and reproductive psychiatry may be beneficial for you

Women experiencing anxiety, depression, or intrusive thoughts

During pregnancy or after birth, emotional storms can feel isolating. We see you.

Mothers struggling with mood changes

Mood swings, panic, or numbness while caring for a newborn can shake your sense of self. You're not broken.

Women navigating fertility challenges

Infertility, pregnancy loss, and birth trauma carry weight that deserves compassionate care and healing.

Medication during pregnancy and breastfeeding

Thoughtful medication decisions that protect both you and your baby

Your concerns matter

Many patients worry about taking psychiatric medication while pregnant or breastfeeding. A reproductive psychiatrist helps carefully evaluate the risks of untreated mental health conditions, the safety of medications during pregnancy and lactation, your individual treatment needs, and evidence-based research on medication safety. The goal is to create a personalized treatment plan that supports both maternal and infant health.
